STEP 2:
Option 1 - Salzburg Salt Mine
Visit Salzwelten Salzburg at Dürrnberg near Hallein. The underground experience takes you through around 2,600 years of salt-mining history, from modern mining back to the Celtic period. The approximately 90-minute experience includes a mine train, two miners' slides, an underground salt lake and an underground crossing of the Austria-Germany border.
STEP 3:
Option 2 - Berchtesgaden Salt Mine
Travel into Bavaria and visit the historic Berchtesgaden Salt Mine, where salt has been mined continuously since 1517. Ride the visitor train approximately 1,400 metres into the mountain, experience the miners' slide and enjoy a boat journey across the underground salt lake. The underground guided experience itself lasts approximately one hour.

Return to Salzburg
After your selected salt mine experience, meet your tour guide and enjoy a comfortable journey back to Salzburg with hotel drop-off.
